In January 2025 Shane & Kerri McCann flew from Ireland to Florida bringing the three kids for an awfully big adventure. It inspired Ara age 9 to write this.

The awfully big adventure begins

Time to explore America. But is America ready for the McCann Clan?

You come all the way from Ireland to America and what do you do? Go to a Celtic festival to listen to Irish music of course!

Our first day at sea and we find the best seat on the boat.

We should have buried the lobster but we got buried instead.

Wow! we never imagined that Manatees would be so big or that we would get to see them close up.

Paddling in a kayak is great fun but Mummy and Daddy came back and said it was nearly a divorce because they both paddled in different directions at the same time.

Today we had a long sail down to Key West. There was not much wind so it was easy to relax.

The best way to see Key West is in a golf buggy but the best thing to eat is Key Lime Pie.

Key West is the southernmost point in the USA and has lots of shipwrecks. Thankfully Seminole Wind is not one of them.

Florida is the lightning capital of America and we got and overnight show. Alan told us that in the summer this happens every afternoon with thousands of strikes everyday.

For Mummies birthday we had her new favourite KLP ( Key Lime Pie) with hugs, kisses and presents.

Sailing is great fun - but Mummy wasn’t so sure.

Swimming makes you hungry so it’s a good job the burgers are huge here..

The last day and everyone is sad but we still got to go to Miami Beach.
