Home is where the anchor drops.

So because you fall in love with a place doesn’t mean you fall out of love with another. We loved our time in the Caribbean, Central America and USA, our trips to the Indian Ocean Asia, Africa and the Pacific but we also always felt this place, Brittany, calling us home. And it is not disappointing. It’s 9.30 in the evening, the sea, the Atlantic Ocean no less, is flat calm, the sun is just starting to go down and the temperatures are so “ comfortable” t.shirt without being sweaty or the need to reach for a fleece - perfect. And tomorrow we head for the biggest Celtic festival in the world, music, dance and classic boats is a heady mix.

If it weren’t for the curvature of the earth and the constraints of human eyesight as I lie here in the cockpit, rocking gently with the anchor well dug into sand I could look to the west and see Nova Scotia, ,North to family we love in England and Ireland, SW to America and if I really strained I could see my friends in Florida, California, Guatemala and Honduras. Our world is just so full of beautiful places and people and it’s such privilege to be able to experience so much of it so wouldn’t it be a shame to fall in love with just one place? So much better to live for the moment, love where you are, the memories of the journey that brought you here and the friends you made along the way.
