Sark, Europe’s last Feudal outpost.

Sark is the only remaining place in Europe with a feudal form of governance and the residents seem very happy with it.. Not too sure about the Americas, it’s a matter of opinion whether the feudal system still operates there. One thing for sure Sark is a strange place with some fairly unusual inhabitants. A small island with no cars, just boats and tractors., the first time we went we were anchored in a bay about half a mile from the town and we trekked across to find a pub straight out of Lord of the Rings. I expected to find Hobbits and Strider at the bar., and I wasn’t far wrong, the locals all look remarkably similar. We got back to find the dinghy dangling from its painter, the tide had dropped 5 metres (17’) in 2 hours..
